A demonstration of respect for the past
Once the home of Mr Tran Van Huong, the Vice President of the Southern Vietnamese Government before 1975, The Chopsticks resonates with stories of the people who visited its famous owner. Many of the original features of the villa have been retained in the renovation: beautiful wrought iron gates and windows, the garden entry, the sweeping staircase, earthy timber work and the soft, natural light. The food is authentic Vietnamese: delicious, fresh flavours, quality ingredients, imaginative menus all showcase the best of traditional cuisine. A world class wine list and a range of signature cocktails ensure dishes have the perfect accompaniment.OUR MENU
Set and a la carte menus embrace the best of Vietnamese cuisine and provide a unique dining experience in the ambient atmosphere of this beautifully restored vintage villa. With signature dishes on the a la carte menu include crab and coconut jus hot pot, char-grilled chicken and herbal tofu with chilli rock salt, dining at The Chopsticks is sure to thrill.
With its diverse, fresh ingredients, traditional Vietnamese food is one of the healthiest diets in the world. Nutritious soups, salads, rice and noodle dishes that are the mainstay of Vietnamese food include vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and protein.
Vietnamese usually eat with friends, family and work colleagues. Small numbers of different dishes eaten with chopsticks allows food to be consumed more slowly, which is better for the digestion and for portion control. Ingesting food slowly is better for the digestive system because nutrients are absorbed and used more effectively by our bodies.
The Chopsticks’ cooking classes, taught by our world class chefs, will show you how easy it is to make mouth-watering, nutritious Vietnamese food. Our chefs will share their cooking secrets with you, and teach you how to shop at the local market for fresh produce, and turn these ingredients into delicious dishes.
You’ll be making spring rolls, salads, rice and noodle and meat dishes like chef in no time at all.
